Helen McCormack took over management of the complex. The members of the company were in general up in arms over a number of intractable problems within the complex for a number of years previously. Relations were not good and tempers were fraught. The company had for some time found it increasingly difficult to progress any meaningful business matters and there was a sense of crisis.
Helen immediately set about building a relationship with each of the members getting to understand their problems and what was important for them. Key items of maintenance were identified,improved quotes received for the work required and improvements occurred almost immediately. The items with the most impact and least cost were tackled immediately and created a sense thaturgency was being applied to the members concerns.
In the meantime Helen sought quotes for the larger items through her own network of suppliers and very significant cost reductions on previous quotes were received. What had seemed impossible ashort time before was suddenly very doable and by the time of the AGM in January not only had all the maintenance items been completed but significant other works had also been carried out.
Helen also resolved a major problem which will shortly benefit the management company financially and remove one major irritation for the company.
Not only has Helen performed stellarly on the general management and financial management she has taken the time to build a relationship with the occupiers, to understand them and their needs.
